Description
This painting is part of a series of works where I have been exploring creating rhythm within the key elements of artistic expression.
Shape, colour, line, form, texture, value and space are the seven core elements of art. They often overlap and inform one another.
In this painting my key objective was to explore the possibilities of creating a feeling of rhythm within the confines of the circular and semi circular shapes and wavy lines dividing them by linear sections. My choice of colours was very important, using the primaries balanced by yellow ochre and ensuring light, medium and dark tones were present in the thin layers of acrylic inks.
